Sparkles & Karaoke - The Key Celebrates With An Open Afternoon
On Friday 14th December 2018 we held our Celebration Open Afternoon. Parents, friends and members of our Management Committee joined pupils and staff for a special lunch in the canteen. Afterwards, we held an awards assembly where pupils received certificates from their teachers for effort, hard work and positive attitude. Pupils also received certificates for passing their Functional Skills in English and Maths.
It was then ‘Access All Areas’ and visitors were welcome to tour the Centre and the see the pupils engaging in different lessons and activities. The Design & Tech room proved very popular, with pupils building and designing personal projects. There was also a craft stall selling Christmas merchandise made by the pupils. Two pupils entertained the visitors with their singing skills on the karaoke machine. A large group of pupils showcased their boxing techniques in the PE studio. Food Technology pupils decorated Christmas biscuits, pupils in Art made Christmas cards, and 'west side' pupils created Christmas decorations. Mr Ward ran a Monopoly championship and pupils made Lego models. Visitors were offered tea and cake after being shown around the building by pupil guides. Many of the pupils were looking extra sparkly because some face paint and glitter came out in the canteen!
The afternoon was a wonderful success and we look forward to sharing the work and achievements of our pupils again in the future. Thank you to all of our visitors who supported the Open Afternoon.
