A Visit From The Mayor - Key Fest Brings Colour To The Centre
On Friday 24th May 2019, we held our very own summer festival, Key Fest. Parents, friends and members of our Management Committee joined pupils and staff for a special BBQ-style lunch in the canteen. Afterwards, we held an awards assembly where pupils received certificates from their teachers for their hard work and effort in different subjects. A huge number of certificates was handed out and it was lovely for the pupils to see all their efforts recognised.
As with our Christmas Celebration Open Afternoon, it was then ‘access all areas’ for our visitors. We had several festival-themed activities taking place. A particular favourite was the ‘Sumo Suits’, which involved pupils dressing up as sumo wrestlers and then fighting in a ring. We also had festival make-up which resulted in most people leaving a bit glittery! Mr Hiscock had pupils building bird tables in the Design & Tech room and Miss Browne engaged the pupils in tie-dyeing. Miss Drew took great pride in showing some of the amazing art work that pupils have produced in her classroom. We also had board games, X-Box sessions and, of course, some tea and cake.
One of the most exciting parts of the afternoon was the special visit from the Mayor of Gosport who arrived with her husband. The Mayor was introduced to the pupils and was given a tour of the Centre and an opportunity to get involved with the festivities.
The afternoon was a wonderful success and we look forward to sharing the work and achievements of our pupils again in the future. Thank you to all of our visitors who supported our Key Fest and to all the staff who worked so hard to make it successful.
