The Benefits Of Winning & Losing - Football At The Key
The pupils at The Key have been entered into a football league which has given them an excellent opportunity to play against children from various alternative education providers in and around our area. This has enabled our pupils to appreciate the importance of team work and to improve their fitness and self-discipline. So far, our pupils have played three of the matches in our fixture. They won one of the matches, which was wonderful, but even the losses were great experiences, because they helped the pupils learn how to deal with an unwanted outcome.
Joining the league has caused our pupils to feel motivated to complete training sessions and improve their skills. So, for next year, we are trying to organise training sessions at the end of the day, once a week.
We have also recently purchased our very own Key football kit, as our pupils decided they wanted to look more like a professional team out on the pitch.
