Putting Things Back Together - Careers Day At The Key Gosport
by Ms Adams
On the 13th of November, pupils at The Key Gosport had an opportunity to take part in a special Electrical Engineering and Motor Vehicle Career Day. Two visitors from South Downs College, Garry Adams and Martin Whitear, ran the sessions that took place over the course of the day.
For the Motor Vehicle sessions, our pupils were able to strip down two-stroke engines, rear brake drum rigs and a 4-speed gear box... and then put them all back together again!
For the Electrical Engineering sessions, our pupils had the opportunity to build a simple flip-flop circuit using various components, printed circuit boards and soldering irons.
The day was extremely successful. Mr Adams and Mr Whitear praised our students for their commitment to trying something completely different and for their engagement with the sessions.
