Animal Care At The Key

20 Mar 2018

In November 2017, we adopted two rabbits and a guinea pig. We bought two separate hutches for them - which we keep in our courtyard - and we had a vote to choose their names: the guinea pig is called Tappy and the rabbits are Gucci and Luis.

Our Key Stage 3 pupils look after the animals. They have taken them to a vet for vaccinations, they go on trips to local shops to buy food and, most importantly, they clean their hutches on a regular basis. The pupils love looking after the animals and seeing them running around the courtyard.

During weekends, our Headteacher, Mrs Forde-Nassey, looks after the animals. During holiday periods, various teachers and pupils volunteer to look after them. We are currently looking for volunteers for the Easter holiday.
