Splodge Designs have been working with the pupils at The Key to carry out research about WWI. Gosport has a rich heritage of military and naval history and we are creating artworks to celebrate peace.
The centre-point of the project is Fort Brockhurst: a demobilization station in 1918. It has a wonderful history within the area and keeps an archive of WWI photographs and records which will be made available to the groups for their research. There will also be a 1918 Peace Party which will be decorated with bunting made by our pupils from original images of the time (see images). The bunting will be part of a collaboration exhibited in November 2018.
