Using recycled materials is always a good idea and our pupils recently made use of logs to create Christmas decorations and pallet wood to create two 'mud kitchens', one for a pre-school group and one for a pupil's young niece and nephew. At our Open Afternoon we sold a variety of Christmas decorations and raised over £60, which will go towards a new pool table.
In our Design & Technology lessons, we have used 2D Design, our CADCAM package, to create a scaled model of a Hampshire railway station, cutting out the parts using the laser cutter. Pupils have also designed several pieces of furniture, using traditional soft wood and man-made MDF.
Finally, some miniature model weaponry from Fortnite has been made using steel; this activity helped pupils develop their thread-cutting, marking out, filing and polishing skills.
