The Key Education Centre offers education for children who are temporarily unable to attend school because of the following reasons:
they have been permanently excluded from school
they are at risk of being permanently excluded from school
they are unable to access school because they are emotionally vulnerable
they are unable to access school because they are facing an absence of 15+ continuous school days due to ill health.
The Key Education Centre is made up of two schools - one in Gosport and the other in Havant.
The Headteacher for both sites is Mrs Leanne Forde-Nassey. There is a Head Of School for each site to oversee operational matters and day-to-day running.
A single Management Committee oversees the governance of both sites.
Both sites are Local Authority Maintained Schools.

The Key are unable to accept referrals from parents or carers. Queries regarding placements should be discussed with a pupils' school in the first instance. Advice can be sought via Hampshire's Inclusion Support Service.
Where pupils are referred to The Key by their home school, they are dual registered with The Key and their home school who still retain responsibility for their provision. All placements at The Key require parental consent.
We provide a safe and caring environment, which effectively removes barriers to learning and engagement through respect and resilience.
Our aim is to raise aspirations and achievement for every child.
The Key was last inspected in July 2024 and was graded 'Good' by inspectors.
