Timings of the school day

The compulsory timings of the school day are from 9:00-2:20 for pupils on full-time provision. 

All pupils are welcome to attend our Breakfast Club and a range of afterschool activities are made available throughout the year.

Our compulsory school opening times amounts to 26.65 hours per week. As a Pupil Referral Unit we are not required to provide 32.5 hours per week in light of the specific needs of our cohort as outlined in the 2022 white paper "Opportunity for all: strong schools with great teachers for your child"

"Specialist settings, including alternative provision providers, support a wide range of pupils with diverse needs and therefore currently structure their school week in more varied ways than mainstream schools. Therefore, we do not think it is appropriate to set an expectation for a minimum school week in specialist settings. However, these settings should share our overall ambition to extend and enrich the school week where it would be beneficial to pupils for them to do so, whilst taking into account operational and financial considerations."
