Term ends at midday on Tuesday 22nd July. We return on Thursday 4th September
From September 2025 the following changes have been made to our data and reporting systems:
In the first half-term parent/carers will receive a check in phone call from their pupils' tutor which will focus on attendance, behaviour and engagement in learning
Parents/carers will now recieve curriculum reports in the second half of the Autumn and Summer terms. These will include feedback from class teachers and include Active Learner and Attainment Grades.
Parents/carers are encouraged to make contact with their pupil's tutor at any point to discuss concerns or receieve updates
Active Learner is graded on a 4-level scale and reports on pupils' engagement in their learning, their attitude and their overall behaviour for learning.
1 - Active Learner
2 - Developing Learner
3 - Emerging Learner
4 - Passive Learner
NA - Not timetabled for this lesson due to Reduced Hours Provision
1 – Active Learner
Your pupil consistently puts in effort and uses the support and strategies provided. They respond well to feedback, participate regularly, and are becoming increasingly independent. They follow classroom expectations, manage their emotions well, communicate their needs calmly, and work positively with others to complete tasks.
2 – Developing Learner
Your pupil’s engagement can vary. They use support with guidance and are beginning to respond to feedback and take part more in class activities. They usually follow expectations but may need occasional reminders. They sometimes find managing emotions challenging but are trying to use strategies to stay calm. They require some support to work effectively with others and remain focused.
3 – Emerging Learner
Your pupil frequently needs prompting and support to stay engaged and on task. They struggle with following expectations and routines and often find it difficult to manage their emotions. They may sometimes disrupt learning but show some effort to improve when supported.
4 – Passive Learner
Your pupil struggles to engage in learning and is highly dependent on adult support. They often find it difficult to follow expectations and routines. Strong emotions may impact their behaviour and learning. They require frequent support and intervention and may find it hard to engage positively or participate in class.
Attainment grades are on an 8-level scale and reports on pupils' achievements in their learning based on the skills and knowledge in each curriculum area

B/B+ - Good skills and knowledge
C/C+ - Basic skills and knowledge
D/D+ - Limited skills and knowledge

Please note: There is no correlation between Attainment grades at KS3 and KS4 due to the different requirements and levels of challenge within the two curriculums. e.g. an Attainment grade at KS3 of a C+ is not the same as a C+ in KS4 and therefore should not ne used for comparison purposes or to assess pupil progress.
